Speaking of impactful career changes, the recent news of Sheryl Sandberg stepping down as COO from Facebook, as reported by The Washington Post, adds a new dimension to our discussion. Sandberg, who played a key role in turning Facebook into one of the most profitable digital-advertising businesses globally, left during a challenging financial period marked by layoffs and revenue losses. This shift signifies a transformation in Meta's direction, focusing on generative artificial intelligence and virtual-reality-powered services.
Preparing for What's Coming:
Artificial intelligence is creating jobs, no doubt about it. But here's the catch, you can only snag one of those jobs if you have the right skills. When I say skills, I mean STEM skills (engineering, biology, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, etc.). If you're not in these fields or a healthcare role, you need to seriously consider your options.
Why Women Face Unique Challenges:
Let's be real about why women are going to feel this impact. A lot of women are in administrative, analytics, financial analysis, business analysis, HR, recruiting jobs that AI can potentially take over. Don't believe me? Four years ago, the world hit pause, and companies used that moment to reshape their strategies, ushering in a new era marked by automation and artificial intelligence. This shift has redefined the job market, making it imperative for individuals to adapt and thrive.
In my decade-long journey in the education field, I've witnessed the transformative power of education and continuous training. I can't emphasize enough how crucial it is to develop and maintain a skillset that aligns with the demands of the evolving job market.
"Education and training" are the words of the day. It's not just a one-time endeavor but a continuous investment in oneself. The world we're stepping into demands a diverse skillset, and without it, navigating the future becomes a formidable challenge.

Y'all, I want to stress the significance of prompt engineering in AI. It's about crafting inputs for AI tools to get the best possible outputs. If you've got skills in this area, you can play a crucial role in making sure AI systems are unbiased and provide accurate information.

I mentioned MIT as a go-to for AI education. Getting educated from renowned institutions like MIT sets you up with a solid understanding of AI, machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing.

Courses Check out the University of Texas for courses in AI, machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. It's a great way to boost your knowledge and skills in these essential areas.
Query Writing (SQL):
I pointed out that writing queries, especially in SQL, is a valuable skill in AI. If you're good at writing queries, particularly in databases, you can make a significant contribution to how AI systems process information.
Job Opportunities in AI I shared examples of different job opportunities in AI, from prompt engineering to machine learning engineering and positions at tech giants like Meta, Netflix, and Amazon. There's no shortage of well-paying roles in the AI space.
